Work/Food & Beverage/Event Flyers

Every flyer has a deadline and a door to fill.

A brand post can wait until tomorrow. A Thursday night cannot. I design the live nights, festival campaigns and promo flyers for F&B brands across Canada and India, where the whole job is getting people to a specific place on a specific date.

The overview.

Most restaurant content plays a long game. An event flyer doesn't. It exists to move people to one address on one evening, and by Friday morning it is worthless no matter how good it looked.

That makes it the most measurable design a restaurant orders, and the least forgiving. Every flyer has to carry the what, the when, the where and the reason to care, hold the brand's look, and still stop a thumb mid-scroll. Then it has to do all of that again in a different format for the door.

The challenge

Four facts, one glance, zero clutter.

Event flyers are where restaurant design usually falls apart. Everyone wants their bit on there: the date, the time, the offer, the DJ, the dress code, the sponsor logo, the terms and conditions. Add all of it and the flyer becomes a form. Cut too much and people turn up on the wrong night. And it's usually needed by tomorrow.

The approach

One reason to come. Everything else in support.

I start by finding the single most compelling thing about the night and giving it the whole poster: the headline act, the offer, the occasion. The date and venue then sit in a fixed, predictable position so a regular follower always knows exactly where to look. For anything recurring, I build a reusable format instead of a one-off, so the next week's flyer takes twenty minutes rather than a fresh brief.

The work.

Grouped by occasion, because that's what fills a room.

How it holds together

Three rules behind every flyer.

/ 01

The date is never decoration

Day, time and venue sit in the same fixed position on every flyer for that brand. A follower shouldn't have to hunt for the one piece of information the whole post exists to deliver.

/ 02

One reason to come

Whatever makes the night worth leaving the house for gets the space. Everything else gets small, and anything that doesn't help someone decide comes off entirely.

/ 03

Format, not one-off

Anything recurring is built as a reusable system with the artwork, headline and date swappable. Turnaround drops, consistency rises, and the weekly night starts looking like an institution.
